I had my 21 week appointment this last Tuesday and it included a pretty long ultrasound. I drank the 16 oz of water the little instruction sheet told me to and then had to wait 25 minutes in the waiting room thinking about how if 1 more minute passed I would pee my pants. I went in, pulled down my drawers and she lubed me up with that hot goo and there he was. She snapped a quick shot of him, wiped off the goo and sent me off to the potty because as you can see below my gorging bladder was basically smothering him!

Ahhh, not only did I feel better, but so did he. "Thanks mom!"... After seeing that shot of him I am much more conscious of going to the bathroom as soon as I have the urge as to not squish him. The ultrasound was so cool, getting to see his brain, all 4 chambers of the heart, the lungs, his spine and everything was unreal. I was so bummed that Kirk was sick and decided not to come, but he was worried about getting people in the Dr.'s office sick. That is Cohen's hand up by his face, he kept waving it around...maybe doing a lil' "swinging my arm" practice a la' Iz Doin!

In general he was very active. The tech had a hard time getting good pics because they were all coming out blurry with his sweet moves. She referred to him as a rascal when she was trying to measure his legs and arms he kept flip-flopping on her. He is measuring a bit larger than my due date (about a week larger), but they said they don't change people's due dates based on how the kiddo is measuring. My guess is a growth spurt brought on by Thanksgiving and Christmas feasting. She said he looks amazing and beautiful and big. No concerns, a great heartbeat and active little boy! The pic below is of his feet. At one point in the ultrasound he stretched both feet up in a pike position and just looked at them. I don't even know if he can see yet, but it was pretty funny to watch, like he had just seen his feet for the first time.

This appointment really helped my nerves calm a bit. Although I know I am pregnant and am feeling the little guy more and more frequently, it was such a relief to see him moving all around, getting bigger and hearing the professionals telling me everything is looking great.
I am still feeling really good. I have pretty consistent high energy but do tend to loose my breath easily. I feel very lucky and blessed that I have had such a (knock on wood) easy pregnancy so far.
Firsts: Felt him kick for the first time on Dec 28 about 2 hours into Les Mis. Kirk is convinced that he kicked me to get me to stop torturing him with an almost 3 hour musical.
Cravings: Potatoes (in any form), Fruit, Blended Chai, Oranges
"Oh Really": I wake 2-5 times a night because of being uncomfortable, but luckily fall back asleep within 5-30 minutes. My boobs are way bigger than I would like them to be and now have lovely blue blood vessels showing up. I must be clumsy without realizing it because I have bruises all over my legs. I have baby fly-away hairs at the top of my forehead that I notice people staring at while I talk to them. Apparently it is very distracting for others. The left side of my left knee is totally numb. Pretty sure I could stab it with a pencil and not feel it.
